H&T: Top 5 Films Featuring Aaron Eckhart

David Weaver from Home And Theater writes: This list is in no particular order. These are just some of my favorite films that Aaron Eckhart, the actor and star of the new film Battle: Los Angeles, has been in over the years that I enjoyed either solely because of him or it was a generally well made and enjoyable film. I think it is only a matter of time before he gets his due, his name might not be well known but he is well liked as an actor and seems to make some fairly smart choices when it comes to picking roles. Even though I haven't seen all his films, I have seen enough of them to know that he is one of my favorite actors working today and these are some of my favorites films of his.

What? No Any Given Sunday? Just kidding. I like this list except for The Core. I would switch out The Core for Any Given Sunday. But a good list nonetheless.

Agreed. If the criteria is simply that Eckhart played in the movie, then Any Given Sunday would have to be on that list.

On that note, I absolutely loved Thank You for Smoking. And The Dark Knight goes without saying.

I am gonna be completely honest here, I have no problem with Any Given Sunday at all and think it is one of Oliver Stone's better non-politically charged films, but...I am just not a huge sports person. I saw the film twice and it never really grabbed me the way it did a lot of other people.

But hey, that's just me and my strangeness. I cannot disagree with your assessment in this case but I hope you understand why I didn't have it in there.

No worries. Just saying if I made a list. Some guys just aren't sports people. No big deal. And given the nature of sports movies, you usually have to be a fan for it to really appeal and resonate with you.

I can totally see your point dweavis. If it just wasn't the right kind of movie for you then that is the way it is. I know when I make list sometimes I may leave out certain items because they are things I am just not into. It's all a matter of personal choices.

He is an extremely talented actor that should pick up more roles to show off his talents. Thank for Smoking is a great movie, and who here doesnt like TDK.

Battle LA sucked, but he was great in it. He was shaking his hand after certain things happened. The only thing I hated is he whispered 9 out of 10 of his lines and it got to a point where its like "there is things exploding, people know your there, why are we whispering?" Stupid directors comment will be like "cus it adds to the effect" no it doesnt.

I thought Neverwas with Eckhart and Sir Ian McKellan was a great flick. Me and my wife randomly discovered it on Netflix instant streaming, and it was an incredibly well done movie. It also stars Brittany Murphy, sadly, giving a rather excellent performance herself. It's a shame she didn't get enough credit for her acting chops in her life. Not all of her roles were winners, but I enjoyed her performances in Neverwas and Ramen Girl.
