H&T Podcast Episode 24: The King's Speech, Drive Angry 3D and our 2011 Oscar Winner Reactions

David Weaver from Home And Theater writes: I apologize up front for the length of this episode. We got a little carried away with out 2011 Oscars discussion. In case you don't care about what we had to say I have graciously included a time code at the end of this for you if you just want to skip around the episode. In any case, the first film up is the new Nicolas Cage car action fetish flick "Drive Angry" which may lead to some people leaving the theater angry. Miguel goes digging in our country's tainted history with the documentary "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room". We wrap things up with a long overdue look at the 2011 Oscar award winner for best film of the year "The King's Speech" where we come to the conclusion that maybe we were a little too harsh on it before. Featured music is from the films "Drive Angry" and "The King's Speech".

Sometimes I wonder if people actually are interested in podcasts or if they have enough time to listen to over an hour of people talking.

I can't speak for other people of course but I usually listen to them during my commute to work and back in the car.

And to the point of it being over an hour long, there is nothing making anybody listen to that whole hour in one sitting. Two of my favorite podcasts (slashfilm and giantbomb) are often near 2 hours long each but it usually takes me an entire week to get through them (in 30 to 40 minute chunks). And by the time I have finished with them the new ones are up.

I guess it really comes down to if you are interested in what the people are saying. It is no different that talk radio other than you having to download it instead of just changing stations on your car radio.
