Last October we learned that the fourth movie in the Jason Bourne franchise wouldn't include out titular amnesiac hero, but rather an all-new character. Director Tony Gilroy said The Bourne Legacy is "not a reboot or a recast or a prequel. No one's replacing Matt Damon. There will be a whole new hero, a whole new chapter... this is a stand-alone project." Now it's time to fill this new hero's shoes. Variety was first on the scene with a shortlist of contenders that includes actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Taylor Kitsch (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Kellan Lutz (The Twilight Saga). But there's more!
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Not sure I want a 'Bourne' movie without Damon but from those choices I would probably want Michael Pitt to get the part.
Josh Hartnett might be decent as would Jake Gyllenhaal.
I loathed the Bourne movies. In fact, I hate the original so much, that I fell asleep during the first 20 minutes each time and stayed away from the rest of the movies because I was bored to tears with the first movie. I've also been told that "Shaky Cam" was used far too much in the more recent installments
I can't see Gyllenhaal playing the role. I think Damon should come back. But, I guess just like Bond, the actor for Bourne has to change too.
Bourne is so awesome but nobody should play him but Matt Damon. Damon IS Bourne.
I can see Gyllenhaal or Fassbender playing a role like this though I would rather have Jason Bourne come back with Damon playing him of course.
