Sony Pictures Acquires 'Zombies Vs. Robots' For Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes

Deadline says:

EXCLUSIVE: Hollywood's fixation with robots and the undead has fueled a spec package deal that includes underlying rights to the IDW Zombies Vs. Robots. JT Petty has used the comic as the basis for a spec script called Inherit the Earth. The film will be a co-production between Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW, and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs. More than one studio was interested. The film focuses on a young girl who is the last survivor on earth. She is protected by a group of robots from a pack of zombies that are intelligent and evolved. The comic title is unrelated to Cowboys vs. Aliens, even though it sounds like it could be on the undercard. Transformers' director Bay, of course, has more than the requisite experience with robots to turn this into something exceptional. Jonathan Kadin and Hannah Minghella will oversee for Sony. IDW's title World War Robot is being developed by Jerry Bruckheimer. (Cinema, Michael Bay, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Zombies vs. Robots)

I love zombies and I love Robots - Together it could be fun thought I don't see there being much of a challenge for the robots.

There's probably going to be thousands of them vs like 2 robots.

Usually, movies that have the versus title in them tend too, how can I say this nicely... SUCK. Remember, Freddy vs Jason? Or Alien vs Predators?

Freddy vs. Jason didn't suck. Purely for the reason that Freddy and Jason 2 horror icons I grew up on were in the same movie. Aliens vs. Predator was fine for what it was but I wpuld have liked them to stick closer to the comic series.

Zombies- FRIGGIN AWESOME
Robots - sweet as hell
Michal Bay - sweet tits

Combine all three what do you get? A FRIGGIN AWESOME AS HELL AMOUNT OF SWEET TITS! :D

Seriously though, this does sound rather interesting and ill be checking it out.

"The story follows a young girl who is the last survivor on Earth, protected by a group of robots as a pack of zombies that are intelligent and evolved aim to kill her."

That actually sounds badass.

Nah, just reminds me of Transformers. Oh look, guess who part of the shooting...
-MD-  +   848d ago
But does Transformers have zombies? Zombies make everything better.

If they put zombies in transformers I'd be ok with it.
Sunny_D  +   848d ago
I think zombies are overkill nowadays. Every horror movie that you see have a zombie around the corner. It's getting dragged out and boring.

No such thing as too many Zombies
Sunny_D  +   847d ago
Well, if you read my above comment, too much of anything is bad. This applies to zombies. I mean we have had more than our fair share of zombie movies in the past few years.

It does sound like a very fun idea.
