China is ordering makers of films and TV shows to limit the amount of smoking depicted on-screen, the latest effort to curb rampant tobacco use in the country with the largest number of smokers in the world.
The order from the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television viewed Tuesday on its website orders producers to minimize plot lines and scenes involving tobacco and show smoking only when necessary for artistic purposes or character development.
Bros Review: The series, as the title suggests, is about two adult men who want to behave like children and we are not here for that.
Going Home With Tyler Cameron Review: This is a simple, no-nonsense but cliched watch, with Cameron's boyish charms taking centre stage.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
We went through the same thing. I think you can't smoke on television unless you smoke in real life, and in film you are allowed to opt out of a smoking scene.
Either way i dont see how that really encourages new smokers by any means. I can understand a smoker trying to break a habbit would have issues with it though.
At first I thought this was a ridiculous idea but now that I actually think about it... if I was a smoker and I wanted to quit I for sure wouldn't want to see a bunch of other people smoking on tv or in movies.
Cool beans. I'm all for it. I don't think it's as big a deal as many are going to make it out to be. Personally I think that it can help, but at the same time it's not a proven thing. All kinds of different factors go into whether or not a person smokes...it's really not because of a movie or any one thing.
Hell I grew up with Looney Tunes and there were several cartoons in which the characters smoked, and I'm about as anti-smoking as it gets.

How dare you suggest such a blasphemous thing! One of the things I loved in MGS though is that when you equipped the cigarettes, you were given the Surgeon Generals warning, and your health bar went down. Didn't they switch it to cigars in the last one though?
