The 10 Best Movie Music Moments Of 2010

From CinemaBlend:

Say what you will about the quality of films we got this year, particularly during the summer months, but this was an amazing year for soundtracks and scores. Composers like Hans Zimmer, Clint Mansell and Daft Punk created some truly stunning pieces while directors utilized the songs of Joni Mitchell, Edith Piaf, Metric and The Human League flawlessly. So without further ado, I present the 10 Best Movie Music Moments Of 2010.

This list could have been filled entirely with Scott Pilgrim...and I would have been just fine with that.

Yea, Scott Pilgrim had some very good music going on there. I did enjoy that. The movie altogether was pretty awesome.

However, I would've been disappointed had they left a couple of these off. First, Zimmer and Nolan in Inception. The use of that Edith Piaf song was just really cool I thought. Also, Mansell did a brilliant job with the way he worked that Swan Lake music throughout the movie. Just a very good blend into the movie. I loved it. Also, haven't seen it but I've heard nothing but good things about Daft Punk, so guess that has to be included. Other than that, I haven't seen any of these other movies yet, except The Other Guys, and nothing about that score/soundtrack really stood out as cool/awesome to me.

Daft Punk was probably the best part of that movie, and I hate how Swan Lake and Inception aren't going to be eligible for the Best Score Oscar. Seems a crying shame really.

Did they actually disqualify Zimmer? Cause I was pretty sure he wasn't in the initial list. The initial list said that Mansell (Black Swan), Burwell (True Grit), The Fighter and The Kids Are All Right were the ones disqualified. No mention of Inception.

Though there were some people talking about Inception getting disqualified due to it's use of that Edith Piaf song. However, I think they were talking like Inception included enough original music that that wouldn't stop it from being nominated. Kind of the same way The King's Speech is eligible despite using some classical music. The way the Academy judges is by what percentage of the score is original and how much of it is 'adapted'.
