Couch Potato Club Review: Paranormal Activity 2

Couch Potato Club:
Overall, Paranormal Activity 2 is a wonderful genre film. While it may not appeal to all due to its low-budget nature/characteristics and its simplistic approach/technique, it proves to be a worthy successor to the first film. Staying true to the formula set forth by the first movie, Paranormal Activity 2 delivers a wonderfully suspenseful experience despite a somewhat slow start. For fans of the first movie, Paranormal Activity 2 is a must-see.

"command of tension and suspense"

I like that way of telling a story.
Heavy-handed special effects or gore don't always have to be the only way to do things in a horror film.

Exactly. That's what been so great about these films for me. It's an art of sorts that Hollywood seems to have lost touch with. It's like they forget that "terror" is also a part of the horror genre and along with that comes the ability to get in the psyche of audiences and really terrify them and scare with and have them on the edge of their seat, rather than making them cringe from gore and graphic scenes or merely jump from one startling moment. There's a vast difference between being startled and being scared. You get startled, and as soon as it's over you laugh about it. If they truly scare you, that's the type of fear/horror that has you rushing to unlock your car or looking over your shoulder when you leave in that dark parking lot, etc.

I'm not much of a Horror fan, but i really loved the first Paranormal Activity *Still Haven't Watched The Second 1*, i personally got tired of those 'Human Flesh Eating Weirdo' Movies.

I enjoyed 'Hills Have Eyes, Wrong Turn' those were descent film.
