MindFood: Rediscovering 'Back to the Future'

Hollywood: Since the Web has been geeking out about it in anticipation for weeks now, I'm sure you're well aware that the Back to the Future trilogy is only a week away from being released in a brand-new, completely remastered 25th anniversary Blu-ray (and DVD) package. (That's Oct. 26 for anyone who isn't staring at a calendar.) Having now had a chance to pore through its frankly immodest feature set, I can say with absolute certainty that this is a must-have set for anyone who has even a passing interest in the BTTF series. I watched the hell out of these films this weekend. It seems like 4 different channels were showing the trilogy on TV this weekend, and I watched them all happily. I cant' wait until tomorrow to go pick up my copy of the blu-ray. I honestly hadn't seen them in a while until this past weekend, and I was shocked at how much I had forgotten about them.

We were actually just studying the first one, shots and angles, in class lol. So obviously word is going around the bend about the re-release.

That's awesome. My film classes studied a bunch of different films. They were all pretty awesome, but nothing as 'cool' as BTTF. I had to go to my humanities classes to get those kinds of movies.

Its nice way to celebrate the film, and its nice to see alot of features coming with the re-release. alot of films purely just re-release in High Def and add nothing more to it beyond that. This should make the fans happy.

To be honest, that's exactly what they could have done, and I would have still been happy about it. I got plenty of extras for their DVD release, so I wasn't hurting for those. I just want to view it in the best possible format.
