Vulture:
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the unfairest of them all? It's a tough call, because Hollywood's fight over Snow White is getting ugly. A battle between Universal Pictures and the studio's linchpin financier, Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media, is unfolding over their competing efforts to adapt the same fairy tale. What's more, Vulture hears exclusively that Relativity has offered the job of directing its version of Snow White, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, to Tarsem Singh, the renowned commercials director (of crazy expensive spots like last year’s Britney/Pink/Beyoncé "We Will Rock You" Pepsi commercial) and the guy behind the equally visually wild Jennifer Lopez thriller The Cell. It's unclear whether they'll reach a deal, but talks are proceeding apace.
Player Affinity writes: This year’s San Diego Comic-Con proved to be a huge one for actress Kristen Stewart. Leading the fantasy romance franchise “The Twilight Saga” serves as her big claim to fame, and while she’s tackled a variety of features, she isn’t looking to leave the fantasy genre anytime soon. Next year she appears in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman as the titular maiden, alongside Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman, Sam Claflin as the prince and Charlize Theron as the Queen.
CinemaBlend says:
After playing a lord on HBO’s critically acclaimed Game of Thrones, Sean Bean appears ready to move up the hierarchal ladder and play a king in Relativity Media’s planned Snow White production, with Tarsem Singh at the helm.
Bean is close to finalizing a deal to play Snow White’s father, whose kingdom is decimated by the fairy tale’s evil queen (Julia Roberts), Variety reports. Lily Collins of The Blind Side has been cast as the apple-eating, dwarf-befriending maiden, while Armie Hammer of The Social Network and Gore Verbinski’s upcoming Lone Ranger feature will play Snow’s hunky love interest.

Relativity Media have announced that they have finished rounding out the leading cast for their Snow White adaptation. The project was formerly known as The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, but is now simply working under the title of Untitled Snow White Film. Directed by Tarsem Singh (Immortals, The Cell), the film will see Lily Collins (The Blind Side, Priest) taking on the role of Snow White. Relativity have now found her her dwarfs.
I just hope they don't ruin my Snow White. I really like Lily Collins too.....but Snow White? I don't know what they have in mind for it. Is it going to be on the over the top dark side or are they going to stick to the basic story?
Hmmm...I liked Cell, and I like this idea of doing the Brother's Grimm version of Snow White. This could be very interesting and probably will be filled with images I won't be able to get out of my head. I'd love to see what he could do with it. At the very least it would look stunning and have some fascinating set pieces.
