MTV: I have no idea where this rumor originated — a fair bit of Googling hasn't revealed the source — but someone somewhere floated the idea that Ron Perlman might co-star in "At the Mountains of Madness." The ever-unreliable IMDb even lists Perlman as a rumored castmember.
I was unaware of all this when Guillermo Del Toro stopped by the Newsroom on Wednesday afternoon to chat about his newest vampire novel, "The Fall." Our talk soon turned to "Mountains," an adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's Antarctica-based horror tale that del Toro is set to direct with an assist from producer James Cameron. In the midst of talk about the potential cast, del Toro kicked us word about how Perlman — the star of his two "Hellboy" features — figures into the project.
