On Screen Review: Wall Street Money Never Sleeps

Oliver Stone returns to the streets of New York City in the unexpected sequel to 1987's Wall Street.

Michael Douglas reprises his role as Gordon Gekko who last time we saw was on his way to prison. Out after 8 years, his stint in prison seems to have changed his life, and his views on money, or has it?

He soon meets young, up and coming broker, Jacob Moore(Shia LaBeouf) who is engaged to his daughter Winnie (Carey Mulligan). Together they forge a similar alliance Gordon shared with Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) back in the 80s.

With hopes of avenging his fallen mentor, Lewis Zabell (Frank Langella), Jacob goes head to head with Gekko's nemesis Bretton James (Josh Brolin), a former whistleblower now turned double dealer.

Reminiscent in its approach to the cut throat world of Wall Street stock brokers, Money Never Sleeps offers to the plot a relevant financial climate and modern day technological advances that now govern our world.
