AZ Central: The people behind "Going the Distance" seem confused about what kind of film they want to make.
At times, it has the sweet, scruffy nature of "(500) Days of Summer." Then, it suddenly switches gears and becomes crude and stupid, full of gross-out humor in the "Van Wilder" tradition. In terms of tone and style, the finished product ends up all over the place: Think of it as the "Sybil" of romantic comedies.
