You may recall a feeling of incredulity when hearing the plot of Emmerich’s follow-up to 2012 entitled Anonymous: the film revolves around the conspiracy theory that it was in fact Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, is the real genius behind the works typically attributed to Shakespeare.
