A trailer park teenager played by the then-24 Lance Guest, all Alex Rogen wanted was to break away (as Kelly Clarkson might say today) with his best girl, Maggie (Catherine Mary Stewart). The poor guy's only relief from the everyday grind of fixing everyone's appliances in the trailer camp was the Starfighter video game on old man Otis' porch. But things change for Alex the night he "busts the record" and discovers that the game is actually a recruiting tool for an interstellar war between, well, you guessed it.

Not Even Spielberg Can Remake Last Starfighter

In a Twitter conversation amongst several filmmakers and writers spotted by Slash Film, it was revealed that figures such as Spielberg, Gary Whitta, and Seth Rogen were unsuccessful in getting the remake rights the 1980s flick.

"Spielberg himself told me he couldn't get the rights after I told him how long I'd tried," Rogen tweeted.

(Nfamous.net) Guilty Pleasure Movies from My Childhood

Arcee: Everyone has them; those movies that everyone else hates but you just seem to love. No matter how badly people talk about them, you just don’t share their opinions on them and secretly watch them over and over again. I know I certainly have a few of them. Well, more than a few of them, but certainly as many as others. They are some of the funniest movies I have ever seen and I don’t care what people say, I like these movies. They are my guilty pleasures and I could sit and watch them again and again like no one’s business. That is especially true with a lot of movies I used to watch when I was a young boy. There was just something about movies during that time that just screamed out campy. Whether they are dumb comedies, silly sci-fi flicks or a forced animated movie, I could watch each of these no matter what time of day. I don’t know what that says about me, but I don’t care.

Why The Last Starfighter Deserves More Love

DOG: For many of us, the 80s is filled with a plethora of ‘classic childhood movies', films we watched countless times on rainy afternoons, quoted till our parents yelled at us and to this day, have a special place in our hearts and on our geeky t-shirts.
