Kathleen Kennedy Killed Luke Skywalker Because Girls Can't Relate to Him

Kathleen Kennedy Killed Luke Skywalker because she believes that girls can't relate to him and thus don't like Star Wars, which is categorically false.

Kathleen Kennedy needs to go. So much stupid drama, The Last Jedi was not a good film, Solo will bomb, the Star Wars brand is becoming a joke. Disney needs to reign her in and get rid of her. Look at The Avengers and then The Last Jedi. Absolutely no contest.

emiyaxtousaka2174d ago

The Avengers was so good. Honestly it's so sad to see star wars going down hill. It's funny Marvel is at an all-time high but Lucasfilm is at an all-time low.

guywazeldatatt2174d ago

Marvel is the model. Lucasfilm, with all their talent, has such horrible leadership. If star wars is going to continue (and it will because it was a huge investment) they need to start restructuring and get rid of DARTH Kennedy.

lifeistranger2174d ago

Marvel was lacking before infinity war and black panther. The last Jedi shoved SJW ideology down our throats, that’s my problem

Omnislashver362174d ago

Wtf The Last Jedi was so much better than Infinity War.

frayed2174d ago

Last Jedi is a divisive film for some. But a financial and critical success. Solo is projected to do very well.

I loved The Last Jedi for being so bold and ballsy. I loved Infinity War as well. But they are totally different stories at different points in a classic (beginning, middle, end) story structure - not to mention all the other MCU movies that built up to IW. Compare IW to Ep. 9, if you have to, but they are different genres so it's a bit tricky really.

I enjoyed the open ended nature of everything. Many scenarios had no correct answer like Poe turning on Leia/Holdo, kind of like a real war. People wanted an on-rails experience where everyone only gets one option and they either succeed or lose and TLJ was the opposite.

I think it could have been better, but it's still up there as one of my favorites.

Solo isn't projected to do "very well". It's projected to do like $700-900 million. With a large budget to start with and the fact that they had to reshoot 80% of the film and replace the director and a cast member, it's entirely possible the film doesn't even break even during it's theatrical run.

rutgersfan282174d ago

"Darth Kennedy"...hahaha...that cracks me up.

guywazeldatatt2174d ago

there are some striking parallels between the two.

lifeistranger2174d ago

Dave Finoli should take over honestly. His stories are incredible

Omnislashver362173d ago

I'd love to see you get your ass kicked.

ChrisW2174d ago

Sounds like it should be Jar Jar Kennedy...

frayed2174d ago

Her statement is nothing like what the article implies - she says it is an 'assumption' that some have made that females may not be into Star Wars because of certain main characters. It is clear she does not agree with this assumption. She only states that it is their job to tell the best stories and not to put up barriers that might exclude people. She does not say 'we need less male characters in Star Wars'. Also, even if they did feel that SW was too male, Luke is hardly a major factor as a supporting 'mentor' role. He's not the POV character of the new trilogy anyway. Rey, Poe, and Finn are... If they wanted it to be less male they'd kill off one of them.

Hamill will be back for Ep. 9 anyway, just in a new, ethereal role. He's said plenty of times that he's just waiting on J.J.'s call, even if his enthusiasm is understandably diminished after his close friend's passing. His character has evolved and I - and I believe I'm not alone - am very excited to see how Luke impacts the events of Ep 9.

MCU is great because they listen to the fans.
Modern Star Wars is garbage because they do not listen to the fans.
Very simple formula Disney, you own both.
Kevin Feige has good leaders under him and catered to the fans without pushing so much political bias
Kathleen Kennedy is a terrible leader herself, and has hired terrible leaders (see Rian Johnson) and caters to herself while pushing her political messages over the stories.
How is this so hard for Disney to understand?

frayed2174d ago

Representation and inclusion - when society at large is, whether you like it or not, multicultural - are not politics. It's an artistic choice to represent the contemporary multicultural society that creates the art and the stories. It would be MORE political if it was just a bunch of white dudes running around, as that would clearly be an agenda of some sort as that's not what the world of humans looks like (at least, let's say, the US and UK - where these films are made).

Omnislashver362173d ago (Edited 2173d ago )

MCU sucks. Everyone talks in a low voice, especially females who are all token characters.

The males are all pretentious Gary Stus with no downside. There's no independence, interdependence, romance, mentorship, etc. It's people with some cheesey banter and cheesier jokes.

"OMG the city is under Attack!!"
"Let's get as many guys devoid as character together and some token girls who do spinning backflips over guy's faces and make pouty lips at the camera in slow motion together".

-Every MCU movie ever.

Nodoze2174d ago

Her actions with this forced diversity and racial bullshit prove that she does not deserve the post which she presently occupies. She is poison to the franchise and she is being left in charge largely due to what she sports between her legs versus between her ears. I really love the fact that she cast Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) to play one of the most iconic of the smugglers....only to see him spout on about race politics, AND to release a totally ridiculous 'This is America' music video sporting assassination of multiple people. Nice work Disney and Lucasfilm..you just got played big time so that this ass hat could use YOUR new film as a platform to spout racial polictical bullshit.

Omnislashver362173d ago

You're making a shit ton of blind accusations.
