EB: Prometheus was supposed to set the stage for a few new Alien prequels, but it just raised more questions than answers, so Scott used Covenant to fix a few of that film's issues while also infusing the iconic tension and gore first featured in Alien and Aliens. It now feels like the prequels have officially begun with much clearer direction moving forward, albeit at the expense of Prometheus' more curious open ended plot points.
