Arrival Review | Entertainment Buddha

EB: Alien invasion movies are nothing new in Tinsel Town, which is why Arrival, and its unique take on the genre, manages to stand out from the pack. Thanks to its focus on language and communication, it manages to avoid the usual alien invasion movie tropes such as big budget explosions, cheap one liners, and enough firepower to blow the world up ten times over. While it may be billed as another UFO invasion film, it’s far from it and much smarter than what you may expect based on its trailers. It provides a great message for all of humanity about the benefits of working issues out through dialogue over a show of force, which is a concept that our world powers should embrace, and one that could possibly unite the globe once and for all.
