After a slow start to Season 3, The Strain received a much-needed jolt of adrenaline this week. It was great to see Quinlan play such an integral role in this episode, both in terms of the flashbacks and the build-up to the latest showdown with the Master. And best of all, that showdown actually moved the show forward in a significant, tangible way. Unfortunately, while the Gus/Angel subplot started out strong, their story ended on a very disappointing note.
