Much like Season 2 before it, The Strain's third season didn't exactly start off with a bang. Even the twists from "Night Train" did little to build new momentum or create a greater sense of urgency. But at the very least, this episode avoided filler, featured plenty of character drama and delivered an ample dose of vampire action. Even at a plodding pace, The Strain usually manages to entertain.
