Monitor: When you have the writers behind “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” and all three “Hangover” films decide to write and direct a movie about suburban moms gone wild, there is an obvious disconnect between what they think women are going through and what they think women want. The titular moms of this film crave the reckless abandon of Stu and Doug and the gang from the “Hangover” films but are restrained by the expectations of society and their families and Pinterest, the ruthless competitiveness of the modern mommy wars, and the sad reality that they married Stus and Dougs and other man-children who prevent them from being great. Basically, these women brought their fates on themselves.
