How Zack Snyder Hopes Justice League Will Save His DC Universe

io9

Last Friday, io9 was among a group of journalists invited to the London set of Justice League. There director Zack Snyder, star/executive producer Ben Affleck, and everyone involved all had one, simple message for us: We know. And we’re trying.

awesome sounding scene description here. i suspect it might be part of the sdcc panel if they're being allowed to document it with this sort of detail this early in development.

“The main thing we learned [on Batman v Superman] is that people don’t like to see their heroes deconstructed,”

Wrong! People don't like seeing heroes not only out of character but having little to no reasons for doing the things you Snyder's portrayed them doing.

Indeed. Especially when Batman takes the spear and throws it away... I mean, since when is Batman such a freaking idiot? This movie's a nonsensical mess, it had more writing and direction issues than a strainer has holes.

Agreed.

Personally speaking, if DC/WARNER/SNYDER give in and release a DC movie filled with stupid 'funny' comebacks and loosly comical scenes just to emulate Marvel's style I will give up on them and never look back. I loved the depressed super serious MoS and BvS tone. I hated some of the BvS actor choices (Luthor) and tha huge upcoming movie trailer section in the middle of the movie.

Not to mention killing Doomsday and Sups on their first outing...I mean come on dude wtf? Who's gonna challenge Sups now ? Maybe they know something i dont...hopefully.

Btw, to those who say Man of steel and BvS was too serious I'd keep crying and gtfo, and keep watching Marvel movies instead.

Doomsday felt like it was thrown in at the last minute, another problem I had with BvS. Every plot point and conflict that was established in the first two halves were thrown out as soon as the cave troll from LoTR was introduced.

Not to mention BvS blew their wad early by killing Superman. Especially when they established in the movie that the whole world was not convinced if Superman should even be helping them. At the end they are now mourning him, it felt forced and didn't leave the impact the comic established.

I don't mind a serious tone, but the script has to be handled decent to fit it. I'm not a huge marvel fanboy but I do appreciate that Civil War was able to handle a serious tone and balance some levity within it.

I don't want theses movies to become lighthearted and full of puns BUT I would like a few more moments of levity. In MoS there were many moments like this. Almost every moment where Clark was talking to his mother felt happy, bright and full of hope! They were among my favorite scenes in any superhero movie! They were light but serious. Batman V Superman had none of that. And it needs it, to counter balance the tone. In my opinion both Marvel and DC have a tendency to go a bit far in one direction. There are zero stakes in a Marvel movie, for me at least.

Getting rid of Zach Snyder should fix most of the problems with this film and take the casting director with you also. Please make the music score more memorable cause it was nonexistent in BvS.

Excellent. Make that move Zack. Put that awesome action in it, and well call it a day. Like you said, you are free now.
