"The Blessed Dark," Penny Dreadful's series finale, gave us some beautiful poetic moments in an episode that lacked the proper amount of Vanessa that was needed to earn her big show-ending death. Keeping her in the dark and away from us in these final two episodes seemed to suggest that Vanessa, as the Mother of Evil, wasn't much of a character, or a villain as it were. So there was a lack of payoff here regarding her big decision to join Dracula in Episode 7.
