IGN | 'Outcast: A Darkness Surrounds Him' Review

IGN

The Outcast pilot isn't perfect (what pilot is?), but it definitely offers a rousing start to Robert Kirkman's take on demonic horror. The first episode draws heavily from the first issue of the comic, and little details like Kyle putting on pajama pants to answer the door are a nice touch. While a few scenes don't translate as well onscreen, the premiere does a good job of lingering on moments that need more room to breathe on TV, as well as capitalizing on emotional touchstones like Kyle reflecting on his past. Suffice to say, if you're a fan of Kirkman's bleak and thought-provoking brand of storytelling, Outcast is worth a watch.
