EB: What can I say? I’m in the minority again when it comes to the latest Marvel movie to hit the big screen. I didn’t love Civil War like everyone else, but unlike most everyone else I do love X-Men: Apocalypse. To me it’s just a more fun movie going experience with big budget effects and plenty of flashing lights to keep a caveman like myself highly engaged. The narrative flows well between the action moments and dialogue heavy scenes, and there really aren’t any down moments. Singer pulls just enough fan service to make comic book geeks happy while also catering to the X-Men movie franchise crowd, which is accentuated at the end with a full on fanboy type of X-Men reveal. X-Men: Apocalypse is far from perfect, but it’s well worth a trip to the movies to enjoy its big budget effects and mutant filled action set pieces, so get your yellow spandex out and head to the nearest theaters before it jets off.
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.
