I was glad to see Snyder break away from the MCU formulaic standard (not saying I don't enjoy those movies) He tried to do something different and it really set DC apart from Marvel in the film universe. I have some mostly minor gripes with the movie, but overall I really enjoyed it and the things that people have been complaining about the most are pulled right from the pages of the comics with some slight alternations, though no more and possibly less than many of the changes from comic to film in the Marvel movies, most of which until the last few years were all extremely terrible. I'm pretty much right there with the fans and critics that are saying 3.5/5 or 7.5-8.0/10. Most of the complained about "plot holes" are literally not even plot holes and I'm sure some of that will be cleared up in the R rated director's cut. Snyder didn't write the screenplay or the script and it's not his fault he had to get the runtime down to 2.5 hours. Great movie; solid acting, mostly good story, production values and music were excellent. For some reason other people have similar nitpicks and problems that I do with this film, but they're just rating it much lower completely based on having a different set of expectations and a completely emotional response. I respect opinions, but a lot of the misgivings and whining about comic book inaccuracies are at least partially and sometimes even wholly incorrect.

-people think Bruce was flying with bats in the opening when it's obviously and narratively stated to be a dream
-people think Batman helped Superman mainly because their mother's had the same name, which is obviously not remotely even his motivation for doing so. He obviously did it because he remembed his own mother and questioned his actions the last several years which is something Alfred warned him about numerous times throughout the film. He realized his loss of humanity through his realization of Superman's own humanity
-people complaining about Doomsday even though his creation was similar to his resurrection by Luthor in the comic books
-people are saying Batman is killing people which is not inline with his character which is also totally untrue based on several of the comics and even collateral damage in some of the movies.Batman is not the Punisher in this film. That and the fact he has guns on his batmobile regularly in the comics and movies. Not to mention this movie takes place after Robin dies and Batman is a very different beast than when he was a younger man, he even drinks alcohol in the movie which is another nod to the Dark Knight Returns
-Batman is more accurately portrayed in this film than any in the Dark Knight trilogy and I say this is a true Batman comic fan
-Batman is a detective in this film and even goes undercover as Bruce Wayne and people are complaining about Affleck's portrayal
-People are saying Superman isn't heroic at all in the movie which is just flat out incorrect. He saves many people despite being a bit preoccupied with protecting Lois and fighting off the Batman
-The whole motivation for Batman and Superman going against each other is very much grounded and fleshed out in the movie, there doesn't need to be more dialogue than there is to make this obvious. People are complaining about this as well.

People really like their hands held these days and it's pretty sad.

THIS dude should be writing most of the reviews here. Really solid, and concise without preaching anything irrelevant to the topic. Pretty much agreed with every said. I enjoyed it, but could have been much better, and I think I mainly enjoyed it, just because I know it’s the start of something bigger.
