'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' (2016) Review - Screenhall

Screenhall - An over-bloated CGI mess. If you are looking for entertainment, you won't find it here. 2-and-a-half long trailer for something that never quite comes. If this is the direction Warner Bros. and DC are taking, then we are all in big trouble given that the same creative team is working on Justice League movie which is right around the corner. Given that there is still time and room for improvement perhaps the next DC outing - Suicide Squad - won't be as horrendous. Next time take a page from the"How to Build a Shared Cinematic Universe Marvel-Style" guidebook if you want to do it right.

Disagree completely. This is one of the best comic book movies I've seen.

People are rating it like it's the worst comic book movie to date when in my opinion it's DC's best to date. Heck it's easily better than Man of Steel that averaged 7-8 but everyone is rating this movie below 5 which is just insane.

It's pretty funny seeing critics tear this movie apart but the people actually like it. I'm going to go with the people on this one. Also, I'm not the greatest DC fan but I really enjoyed the Superman reboot and I'll look forward to seeing this.

As long as the people speak with their wallets then we will continue to see these movies. I also feel that I want these movies to be a little different than the Marvel ones. What's the point of having all these movies and just in up being the same with different characters. But hey what do I know....

Most people agree with the critics it's just die hard fans getting upset and most likely making it out to be better then it is to go against critics

Critics are fans aswell, they are the audience and a lot of them say roughly the same thing

Maybe it's just a bad film

But instead of wanting better fans are alright defending a half arsed film

Agree with you completely. I love films and whenever I go see a film I want it to be good so I am always quite sasd when it doesn't fulfill my expectations. None of my friends liked and I didn't hear anything positive about the film eitehr after the screening. I don't understand how can someone defend this as a good film. But so far it seems that it will still make a huge ton of money so we can't expect a rise in quality.

@ BLow

You're right, it's scoring high on IMDB. http://www.imdb.com/title/t...

I guess the critics just wanted another interchangeable superhero movie.

The 10th Rider2949d ago

Not really. It's doing alright. Scores usually drop after a movie has been out a while. It might end up sitting at a 7.2-ish, maybe even lower. Also, if you take out the votes from those under 18 it sits even lower, which isn't very promising. That would translate to an 'okay' rating. Not bad, but not particularly good, which is what I picked up from reviews.

The thing is, when critics are this harsh about a major release it is always good. It's almost so apparent that'd I'd tell reviewers to bash my movie lol

The 10th Rider2949d ago (Edited 2949d ago )

Exactly, just like 50 Shades of Grey, Transformers, and Allegiant. . . Oh, wait.

Soldierone2948d ago

Problem with your examples is none of them were good according to audiences either.

Perhaps if they were not harsh to every single major release, we'd actually be able to filter them properly? Since DC is making money with this one and will be a big success, reviews will back track and rate them more favorably now that it isn't "cool" to hate them.

Well Batman v Superman and the moviegoers just gave you critics a big old kick in nuts further proving your insignificant.

It was an entertaining movie to me. In the end that is what is most important to me.

I would go as far as to say it was better than star wars 7 for me.

Here is why. BVS actually took some risks and it was different from the regular JL and comic books movies. For example it was completely different from the usual JL cartoon movies.

With avengers for example it felt like I was just watching a live version on the cartoons.

It was a different take and such it was refreshing and a bit unpredictable which is good.

I am actually looking forward to DC movies like the upcoming Suicide Squad than another typical marvel in Captian America Civil War.
