The X-Files - "Babylon" Review | COG

COG writes: It's the 5th episode of 6 in The X-Files revival. This one HAS to be about the mythology right? RIGHT? Wrong. That puts a lot of pressure on the finale to deliver some real revelations, but the most unfortunate thing is how disconnected episode 5 - Babylon - feels.

That's kind of disappointing. Ya some far-fetched stuff has happened, but really Mulder? Mushrooms?

Digital_Anomaly2988d ago

The mushrooms scene was SO reminiscent of Tobey Maguire's dance moves scene from Spider-Man. I laughed my ass off!

big_dom_returns2986d ago

Exactly. It reminded me of that too, which to say is not a good thing at all. I face palmed through my face and turned it off at that point. Atrocious. This is not the X-Files we know and love. Like all good things from the past, they've brought this back and taken a massive turd on it from a great height.

X-files has always had ridiculous stuff. This fits in just fine. It's good it doesn't take itself deadly seriously 100% of the time.

Paulhammer2983d ago

The dance scene itself was fantastic, but was totally out of place with such otherwise serious subject matter.

I really think everyone was expecting something different from this mini-series than what has been delivered. I kinda assumed this was what I was gonna get and less a 6 episode arc that I think people were hoping for... I just wish the episodes were a bit better

The placebo effect/response is all that matters with the "fake" mushroom, whether it be a negative or a positive does not mean a thing., it's all about the outcome.
