‘Minions’ Minimizes Heavy Competition to Top Home-Video Charts

Variety: A shopping rush the week before Christmas helped Universal Pictures’ “Minions” maintain the No. 1 spot on the national home video sales charts for the week ended Dec. 20, despite the arrival of four high-profile new releases.

During its second week at the top of both the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, which tracks combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc unit sales, and Nielsen’s dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, “Minions” actually sold 11% more units than in its first week.
