CB: Disney might be done with Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers, but the Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spots appear to just be getting started. Well, it's embedded in my article too... but thanks anyways! Haha

Hoping for a proper villain =p

RetrospectRealm3064d ago

Hopefully we don't get another Darth Maul. Fingers crossed!

sonicwrecks3064d ago

What was wrong with Maul?

WelkinCole3066d ago

Why do these villians always looks so much cooler than the good guys/gals?

Aldous_Snow3066d ago (Edited 3066d ago )

Good guys are boring. Its almost always villains that make any movie more interesting...

RetrospectRealm3065d ago

I don't know... Han and Rey look pretty dope. Especially Rey with her stick thing.

The 10th Rider3065d ago

This is actually a major gripe I have with modern cinema: No one tries to make a genuinely terrifying, legitimately evil villain. Nowadays the villain has to be 'cool' and liked by the audience, rather than being grotesque and detested.

Obviously that doesn't have to be the case for every single movie, but it's such a rarity nowadays.

RetrospectRealm3065d ago

That's never gonna happen in Star Wars. Who's gonna buy an ugly and grotesque action figure or try and dress up like some ugly thing? Darth Vader was like the villain to end all villains, so naturally, villains want to be cool. Vader was super cool.

The 10th Rider3065d ago

Yeah, I'd never expect in it Star Wars. But it's absent from almost all cinema now.

Darth Vader was pretty terrifying, I don't think he was made to be 'cool'...though he is definitely considered so.

RetrospectRealm3064d ago

I mean, he's terrifying but obviously cool. I don't think anyone really makes a villain not to be cool.

The 10th Rider3063d ago

WEll, of course not, lol.

I was thinking more of villains made specifically to be intimidating or terrifying, and villains made specifically to be cool, lol.

It looks like we've got someone who at least looks like a genuine threat to everyone. It's good its not a cut and dry thing that, 'oh character ____ can beat him'. We really don't know. I'm sure VIII will build on it, much as how Vader 'toyed' with Luke during their duel.

RetrospectRealm3063d ago

Darth Maul was barely in the film and barely said anything. He looks like a badass and fights like a badass but he barely did anything. I would hate to get another villain like that.

NovaCorps3061d ago (Edited 3061d ago )

kylo will be in for the whole trilogy so much can be done with him
i expect him to become a real badass till episode 9
