As studios try harder and harder to chase astronomical box office numbers, marketing for big blockbusters can sometimes get a little out of hand. By the time The Amazing Spider-Man hit theaters, someone had already cut together all the footage that had been officially released into one lengthy supercut. But this December’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens is playing things very close to the chest. While this is to be expected when J.J. Abrams is your director, we’ve seen all the official trailers Disney will release and they still haven’t really explained anything about the plot of the movie. I’m not complaining—it’s nice not to know every beat of an upcoming movie for once!—but the fact remains that The Force Awakens is very much still in the mystery box.
