What's great about movies is they inspire future generations. Star Trek, Minority Report, Iron Man, etc...these types of films and the technology in them, inspire people to go out and create them in the real world.

Back to the Future is another great example.

I think for Minority Report Spielberg even consulted with scientists on what they thought would be legit invented in the years to come. Life inspires art inspires life. Full circle.
