CB: While promoting her new movie Nasty Baby, Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids, MacGruber) was asked if she has ever been a part of a movie that has received so much attention and been surrounded in controversy as her all-female Ghostbusters remake.
"No," Wiig told the Los Angeles Times. "And the fact there was so much controversy because we were women was surprising to me. Some people said some really not nice things about the fact that there were women. It didn't make me mad, it just really bummed me out. We're really honoring those movies."
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
This follows the story within a story rule.
Honouring them? Sure you guys are.
To me it has nothing to do with them being all female. It has to do with the choices. Even here I remember when this was simply rumored we had articles and people saying "so and so would be so great for that!" People didn't care.
Then they announced this sub-par at best cast and people got mad. Then they go market it as a "all female cast" just to light the flame even more.
That combined with the fact Sony has no idea what the hell they are doing right now just shows this will be a terrible film.
