One thing I never understood was how Thor got back to Asgard at the end. Maybe I missed something, but the BiFrost is now powered by the Tesseract and Heimdall has to be in the Bifrost so he can operate it to bring people back. As we know, Heimdall wasn't at his post at the time as Ragnorak is now in motion within the movie timeline. (I Read that in some exective producer interview a month or 2 back)

And the only other way for him to go back is by Odin using some kind of dark magic which Loki referenced in the 1st Thor movie. But as we also know, his whereabouts are currently unknown as Loki is in his place.

What did I miss?

Maybe Loki conjured up some dark magic? AOU is really all over the place. Wouldn't be surprised if this is something that just went over Marvel's heads.
