ScreenRush: SSteven Spielberg is a man with the powers of a god. As the visionary behind some of the most universally beloved film properties of the 20th century, he wields an unfathomable influence over the legions of movie geeks who hold his populist successes as holy gospel. All it takes from the director to move millions of hearts to flutter is words, simple words. No matter if they’re part of a totally offhand comment during an interview, hinting at a project with no actual traction in pre-production, with actors who have most certainly aged out of the capacity to perform feats of dazzling derring-do. All it takes is a mere utterance of the words “Indiana Jones 5” from Spielberg and we all feel like we’re twelve years old again.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
This follows the story within a story rule.
Maybe they can just ignore the 4th film like it never happened and make this the last send of for Harrison Ford
Not hopeful after the 4th, but its Spielberg, it could be great.
Unless this proposed fifth is meta and its all about another archaeologist going into a tomb and trying to uncover the mystery as to what made the original Indiana Jones films so great. Monkeys swinging on a vine, ughhh some wounds cut deep...
I think the 4th was on the right track and good at its core. I don't think it needs to be ignored suddenly. I loved the Soviets as the baddies and the 50's UFO-esque theme. The intro was also bad-ass. Where it veered off was its over-reliance on CGI: the jeep chase looked like a cartoon and the monkeys swinging were just questionable. I think the filmmakers were trying to make Indy fit in the box-office of the 21st century but didn't realize even the newest generation loves the old movies and things like CGI didn't need to be expanded by a great multiple.
