Dark Was The Night, directed by Jack Heller, is a superb low budget horror suspense tale that eventually morphs into a kind of creature feature. Its mood is often depressing as hell and it takes it sweet time getting to where it wants to go, but the slow moments and whatnot are well worth enduring because Dark Was The Night pays off in a big way.
