Funny as in ha-ha? Sadly, no. She’s pretty much a turkey, actually, and even a stacked cast—Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Rhys Ifans, Kathryn Hahn, Will Forte—can’t rescue director Peter Bogdanovich’s overcooked giblets.
Screenhall - A wannabe comedy made by a no longer relevant director. See it only for the performances if you are fans of Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston or Will Forte and for that unexpected director cameo.
AVClub: Can a screwball comedy be too breezy? Peter Bogdanovich’s She’s Funny That Way is a broad bedroom-and-backstage farce styled after the pre-Code comedies of the early 1930s—a retro exercise that announces itself with an Irving Berlin tune and a lengthy explanatory crawl set in an art deco typeface. Plotted as a round robin of dalliances and coincidences, it’s relationship comedy as weightless movement, meaning that something is always happening, but that none of it matters a damn bit.

When you pack Owen Wilson, Imogen Poots, Jennifer Aniston, Will Forte, Kathryn Hahn, Lucy Punch, Debi Mazar, Rhys Ifans, Cybill Shepherd, Colleen Camp, Illeana Douglas and Tatum O’Neal in the same movie, things are bound to get a little hairy, but that's just the right tempo Peter Bogdanovich was going for in "She's Funny That Way." And the first trailer for the star-studded, screwball comedy has arrived.
