IGN: Halt and Catch Fire bounced back this week with a solid episode that upped the stakes and forced Cameron to put her foot down and make some tough calls. Even better, it was another episode that took Joe’s path to redemption a little further and proved his sincerity to the characters around him.
While Joe and Cameron have been great to watch this season, Gordon has remained problematic, but Scoot McNairy brings his A-game to this episode and helps Gordon regain some of the sympathy he lost with the ludicrous affair story from last episode. It’s still the weak point of the episode, but watching Clark computers come together – again using Joe’s sales tactics to convince the guys to work with him – is fun, and the resulting monologue is moving.
