Song of the Sea Review | HSR

There is a unique sense of charm and intimacy to be found in the stories that are handed down through the generations; those precious little gems carefully crafted from old myth and folklore. Although often finely tuned with time, they still feel delicate, their magic untouched, providing a window into a past that time has forgotten, their preservation feels almost sacred.

Song of the Sea champions this same spirit and tradition, not only through the nature of its story but also through the way that it’s told. With Hollywood giants like Pixar dominating the present climate of animation, this Irish underdog may seem relatively small in its scale, but it is grand in its richness.

Sam Love- In a world where Disney dominates the animation scene, it’s hard for an independent animated film to make an impact. At the last Academy Awards, Disney’s Big Hero 6 won the ‘Best Animated Feature’ award – and incidentally, it’s almost guaranteed that their Inside Out will win next year.
