Ant-Man is one of Marvel’s most experimental films. The character isn’t quite as obscure pre-filming as the Guardians Of The Galaxy, but he’s no Thor or Iron Man, let alone a Spider-Man or Wolverine. Moreover, all three major versions of the character have had some likability issues: Hank Pym, despite everything, is best-known as the superhero who, in the middle of a nervous breakdown, abused and slapped his wife. Scott Lang is a former thief who was abrasive in his early appearances, and Eric O’Grady was, for most of his career, more amoral than either.
