Black Sea Blu-Ray Review | HSR

Director Kevin Macdonald is no stranger to exploring the moral complexities of the human condition. Macdonald first tapped into this uncomfortable territory of the human psyche with the strikingly resonant Touching the Void (2003), depicting how one man was forced to govern the fate of his fellow climber when he became suspended on the side of a mountain with no way back up.

In his latest offering, Black Sea, Macdonald provides a more harrowing and in many respects heart-rending insight into how people react when they are at their most tested and how, within these moments, moral virtues can quickly become compromised.
