Collider:
Opening in select theaters and OnDemand this Friday is director Kyle Newman’s (Fanboys) Barely Lethal. The film stars Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage assassin who’s a master of lethal techniques, but doesn’t quite want to live the life of a killer. She decides to fake her death and try being a normal high school student, but she can’t escape her training or old foes. The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Jessica Alba, Sophie Turner, Thomas Mann, Gabriel Basso, and Dove Cameron. For more on the film, watch the trailer.

Unfortunately, Barely Lethal never figures out if it wants to play it edgy or innocent. Some moments roll out with a twisted wink while others feel family friendly. It wants to join the pantheon of great teen comedies but sadly its specific use of them as a plot device doesn't work.
Coming Soon:
Following the announcement of leading lady Hailee Steinfeld last month, Variety today brings word that Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast of Kyle Newman's Barely Lethal.
The action comedy features Steinfeld as a 16-year-old international assassin yearning for a "normal" adolescence. After she fakes her own death and enrolls as a senior in a suburban high school, she quickly learns that being popular can be more painful than getting water-boarded.
the film's plot looks promising enough but the concept looks generic in a certain perspective. samuel l jackson is fit for this kind of action comedies.
Well, since it's limited release I'm sure I won't be seeing anytime soon but eventually I'm sure I'll come across it. It looks like it would be mildly entertaining.
a surprisingly entertaining trailer, i might get to see this because of the entertaining cast in it. steinfeld looks good as the lead role and can carry the film, samuel l jackson is his usual self, sophie turner and jessica alba are eye candies for the film to be more watchable.
