Baumbach hasn't exactly captured lightening in a bottle, but his approach is sincere enough to deem it a worthy viewing, despite the film's negative general attitude."

They represent the couple he would want to be, especially the youth part of that equation. But as usual in a film starring Ben Stiller, Josh gets suspicious and while finding out the truth he ruins all the good around him. Plus there is an obligatory Ben Stiller drug scene.
In previous generation in order to get ahead in life or employment, honesty and truth was the way. Now it is deceit, insolence and straightforwardness. But usually the previous generation has a problem with understanding lifestyle and motivation of the current generation. You can change yourself and who you are if you stop being prejudiced towards everything
"While We’re Young is however a film that’s not necessarily going to blow everyone away, but it’s not one that will disappoint either. It’s in a good middle ground and saying it’s “good” is probably the best descriptor of the films quality. The only issue is really the vomiting scene which wasn’t that great, but there are many funny moments and I did chuckle here and there quite a lot when watching this." -Bryan Weatherall (Resident Entertainment)
