IGN: The search for a way to remove the Mark of Cain has taken a serious turn. Sam became a man of action in tonight's episode, and even though it meant him lying to Dean, it was fantastic to see Sam do something other than give Dean pep talks. And in this instance, the lying was understandable since was Metatron was involved. If it had been any other plan, Sam should have told Dean but given how the last encounter between Dean and Metatron ended, Sam sneaking off made sense. And I loved how both Sam and Rowena lied and put off Dean and Crowley in similar ways.
