THR: Miles Teller has signed on to star in Universal's adaptation of The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang, a long-form piece on The Atavist. Gangster Squad helmer Ruben Fleischer is attached to direct.
Universal optioned the article from the the publisher of original digital nonfiction. The story, written by Josh Dean, centers on the infamous trio of bank robbers who were known for robbing banks in the U.S. and Canada with astounding precision and speed. In one instance, they robbed a bank in less than two minutes, walking away with millions of dollars.
