I think personally, David S. Goyer is a good idea man. He can come up with good outlines and rough 'sketches' of a story. BUT, he cannot write scripts or any sort of final drafts to save his life.

Much like a certain Star Wars writer we all know...

There's no defending David S. Goyer's Man of Steel work. You could tell that script was done in a weekend skimming a couple of old Superman comics. Even his Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 script was better than that.

Warner Bros Sets David Goyer, Justin Rhodes For ‘Green Lantern Corps’

Deadline

Warner Bros and DC are moving aggressively on a new screen version of Green Lantern. They’ve set David Goyer to write the script with Justin Rhodes for Green Lantern Corps, with Goyer producing and with DC heads Geoff Johns and Jon Berg exec producing. The new version is described as Lethal Weapon in space, and it’s based on a comic book origin story. The focus will be on two characters: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The latter is an African American Marine sniper before he joined the Lantern Corps and the story very much focuses on his relationship with Jordan and the Corps. The story was conceived by Goyer and Johns.

Hroach6162659d ago

Fuck yeah. My two personal favorites

I'm fine with it, John Stewart is awesome. Rather see him then anyone else. No problem with it, shouldn't be a problem with it.

Porcelain_Chicken2659d ago (Edited 2659d ago )

Very happy! It'll make for a great dynamic! I'm just glad Jordan will be in it. I hope he's one of the founding members of the League as well! Like it should be!

dauntingpixel2658d ago

i think the next obvious question is who does everyone want to see in these roles?

Porcelain_Chicken2658d ago

Rumor has it that Armie Hammer is already cast as Hal. Wether he is or not is purely speculation but there is a picture of him on the set of the JL alongside Jason Mamoa. So he is in the movie to some degree and not as an announced role. Who knows? "] I personally like him and I think he'd be a good fit. As for John Stewart I think they should cast someone who would fit well with Armie Hammer (if he truly is cast already). The chemistry between the two will be the selling point of the movie after all! If I had to throw names out I'd say Nate Parker and Aldis Hodge would be good picks! Or you could always go with the go-to Hollywood black man Idris Elba! xD

They're still allowing the ultra incompetent Goyer to ruin their live action endeavors. Has this idiot not done enough damage to DC?

David S. Goyer Talks The Forest, Fandom And Superheroes

Joblo

David S. Goyer has certainly had an impressive career. From his work on Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy to Man of Steel, he continues to be a major force in the DC Cinematic Universe. Yet the writer/producer/director enjoys more than just walking with superheroes. He also has a clear love for a little horror, this includes his latest producing effort, The Forest. This telling of an unfortunate young woman who finds herself lost in what is referred to as The Suicide Forest in Japan is a thriller that finds itself somewhere between the supernatural and the psychological.
