From Cinelinx:
Even Marvel fans scoffed at the idea of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie when initially announced, and snickers were heard among the nerd masses when they learned Chris Pratt (aka the chubby doofus from Parks and Recreation) would be the lead. And then there was the selection of James Gunn as director. I wasn’t a particular fan of his other films, and I wondered if he had the directing chops to take on a big-budget sci-fi epic.
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.
Despite the lack of updates from Marvel Studios and Disney, Shang-Chi star Simu Liu says the sequel to the successful 2021 movie is still happening.
Based on the wildly popular 1988 comic book one-shot by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland, the anticipation soared for Batman: The Killing Joke movie. But why didn't it deliver in the end?
I liked Guardians of the Galaxy quite a lot, maybe short of loving it. Ronin was a relatively shallow punching bag and Gamora fell short of the kind of characterization I was hoping for beyond a bunch of daddy issues with Thanos.
That said, Groot and Rocket surprised me as the best duo of the year, and I love to see Chris Pratt continue to come into his own. Guardians 2 might already be poised to be my new Spider-man 2 if it only builds from here.
