Comic book fans are notoriously hard to please. Every part of a film is dissected, and no matter how great the acting, writing and directing is, there will always be an onslaught of criticism. This intense scrutiny has left Spider-Man 3 riddled with a poor reputation, which is hardly deserved considering its important contribution to the genre.

Possibly due to the delay in Star Wars we are seeing Sony shift around a few movies, including the new reboot of Spider-Man.
It seems Disney is giving Marvel movies the early end of the year into summer, and keeping Star Wars to December. Spread their revenue out over the whole year.
Jumanji delay isn't surprising since it's not even being made yet.

Yes, he will be doing the MCU movies and the Spider-Man solo movies. They solo movies will be like regular MCU movies where there are hints of the universe, but probably not full tie ins.
It'll most likely just acknowledge there is a universe.

Topher Grace had no qualms about thinking outside the box to land his pivotal role in the Robert Redford-Cate Blanchett drama Truth.
The James Vanderbilt-directed film, opening Friday in select theaters, stars Redford as Dan Rather and Blanchett as his 60 Minutes producer Mary Mapes amid the flap following the show's 2004 news story about then-president George W. Bush's time in the National Guard. Grace co-stars as the CBS news-magazine's researcher Mike Smith, who is particularly passionate that their story about Bush get told.
The movie was going to make that much money regardless of what it was. 1 You had two really good films leading to it, the second being the best Spider-Man film to date still. 2 You had Venom appear which is something people really wanted, but Sony forced it too soon.
The film would have been better if they allowed Rami to build towards it instead of forcing it.
I liked it. Wasn't my favorite of the trilogy but it was a pretty good superhero flick. Honestly, I liked it better than 2.
Funny, I loved Sam Raimi's Spider-man 2 the best and liked Spider-man 3 a good deal. I even sorta like Amazing Spider-man 2. Too much of a web-head to say no to any Spidey flick, I guess.
