We need an open world styled game like the Simpsons Hit and Run.
Open World, main missions, side missions, use the Smith house to change characters, use the garage to select unlocked vehicles. It could be amazing.
If they want to let us go around guns blazing I suppose they could always use the "Goo" as a plot device so the Langley Falls we are in isn't real and they have to find a way to escape. This would allow them to make it as over the top as they wanted.
