WC: The internet has been abuzz for the last week since it was announced that Robert Downey, Jr. had signed on for Captain America 3.
Most people thought that, following Avengers: Age of Ultron next year, Downey, Jr.’s only remaining appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be in the third Avengers movie in 2018. Then, an interview with Ellen DeGeneres revealed that he was in negotiations with Marvel – with suggestions that they could merely be over a potential fourth Iron Man movie – but it was later announced that he would actually be appearing in Captain America 3 in 2016.
