Ronda Rousey is the “IT” girl in professional sports right now: a top athlete with Olympic pedigree at the top of her sport, with massive mainstream crossover appeal. Hollywood took note as soon as the UFC let the women’s bantamweight division in their doors, thanks in part to the success of Rousey (and her ability to make UFC President Dana White change his mind about female fighters). Rousey quickly wound up with an agent, with Hollywood projects sent her way, and signed on for three of them: The Expendables, the “who’s who of action movies” franchise anchored by Sly Stallone, the Fast & Furious franchise, featuring Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker, and the big screen version of the hit television show Entourage.
