Under increasing pressure and facing bankruptcy due to his production company American Zoetrope’s inability to create a hit, acclaimed director Francis Ford Coppola took on the difficult task of creating a follow up to perhaps the greatest two films of all time.
The film I am referring to, of course, is 'The Godfather Pt III', which was released in 1990 to mostly positive reviews and several Academy Award Nominations, including best picture.
Chillopedia | Hollywood is not the world’s leading film industry for nothing, the audience reach for even a small budget movie in Hollywood is exponentially large than even the biggest films of other film industries throughout the world.
I don't think a lot of these movies were that bad. I liked at least half of them so maybe that's why they made so much money because the public just doesn't go with the critics most of the time.
most of the films that were cited were sequels, they made a lot of money because its previous film was great commercially and critically thats why fans invested money to see if that particular sequel can stand up with the movie they loved. i dont think this are the 20 worst films successful, it was just sequels that notched down. i liked some movies in there like matrix 3, x men origins, stranger tides, borat, godfather 3 and spiderman 3 well the rest kindda sucked
Deadline:
Some might associate AMC with Mad Men, but not me. It has always been its marathon showings of Francis Coppola's The Godfather. Reports have AMC sealing a new deal that keeps it the only outlet running the trilogy runs on cable for the next 9 years. The first and second installments are those rare films, where, when I am flipping through channels, I have to stop. It doesn't matter whether the film has just started or is nearly over. Goodfellas is another, along with Heat, Last of the Mohicans and Braveheart. Have I forgotten any?
